Working with the city
Envirochild is the representative for the ‘environment seat’ on the COCT Ward Council for Hout Bay and is therefore informed of environmental decisions and can put suggestions to protect the local biodiversity to the City.

Dr Johnny Anderton
FounderJohnny founded Envirochild in 2007 as he wanted to make a difference in the Hout Bay community. Johnny has won awards for his earthbag buildings – eKhaya – as they are fire proof, dignified and have low costs to build.
DirectorJaap has been involved with Envirochild since the beginning. He is in the tourism industry promoting sustainable travel and secures funding for a variety of community projects via the European community and travellers offsetting their carbon footprint.

Danielle is an Eco Auditor and is passionate about teaching people easy greener lifestyle options.
Danielle specialises in greening schools, homes, businesses and events.
DirectorDeon founded the ‘Change Agent Collective’ which promotes green events (such as Sustainable Brands) and green education – the Garden Hero’s comic book.
Mark is the expert gardener on the team and he oversees the tree planting and veggie garden projects.
SecretaryRachel is wildly creative and hosts the Planet Warrior Eco Fashion workshops and fashion show.
Saskia is the Vice-Chairperson of Envirochild and assists us with marketing and publicity.
